How do I burn DVD from SD card? I have an HD digital video camera with a memory card (SD card, I think it is called.) I want to save the videos on DVDs. How (where) do I get the videos from the SD card and have them put onto DVDs?
With more and more people are shooting videos/movies with HD digital camera or camcorder, there comes one problem: How to deal with those high definition home videos taking up too much space on hard drive? One perfect solution is to get movies from an SD memory card into DVD format. If you have a camcorder that records onto SD cards, you can put them onto the PC and put the recording on a DVD disc easily. How? Keep reading.
As long as you have a card reader (with SD slot) on your computer, it is no different to normal copying and pasting like you would from a USB pen drive. One thing to be careful of is whether or not you mean recording to DVD as data files or recording to work on a DVD player like a normal DVD. Some DVD players will play data files, but not all, so be sure to check. If you have to make a proper DVD for your DVD player, you can use a DVD authoring software, but be sure to read up on which format you are writing to. Below is the step-by-step guide on how to transfer SD to DVD disc for playback on stand-along DVD players.
So you have recorded many family videos, now get the SD card out of your camera/camcorder. If your computer has an internal card reader, insert it into the computer's card slot to read files. Or you can connect your camera to the computer via USB cable. Then copy your videos and paste them onto the computer's hard drive.

What we use here is DVD Creator (DVD Creator for Mac) which is able to convert & burn all sorts of HD digital cameras, camcorders, smartphones, tablets, etc. Based on your operating system, download either Windows or Mac versions and get it installed on your PC/Mac.
